So I might have a knitterly crush on Cecily Glowik MacDonald who designed yesterday’s Goodale sweater and today’s Idlewood. The cowl, the easy shaping and the brainless knitting made this sweater a fast fun easy knit. Totally satisfying and worth while. I didn’t add pockets but that’s the only modification I made.
This is the perfect laying piece for autumn and fall. Since as always my gage is different than most knitters I made gage knitting worsted weight instead of bulky so my version is not as heavy.
I love the bright yellow autumn color and the tweedy rustic-ness.
This is an easy sweater for the sweater knitter beginner but lovely enough for the advanced stitcher. Though it’s a LOT of stockingknit you can easily zone out, watch movies, listen to audio books, or drink (heavily) while knitting this sweater with out making a single mistake. Now I’m on to the next knit.
